New Year 2016

Greetings! I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas which included eating too much and having a lifetime supply of chocolate which will only last until early January if you're lucky.

I did a New Years post last year so I'd thought I would continue the tradition. This post will be very similar to last years, I have the same goals (if that's what you want to call them) which I want to continue working on.

I still want to be less scared of opportunities and not stress about everything. I want to be able to say yes rather than over analyse and then not end up doing anything because I invent problems that might occur. 2016 will be a year of change for me and doing new things. I won't be studying so I have no real plan for the year. Job hunting is top on my list but I also still have the desire to learn; skills to help with this blog, languages and whatever else I feel like wanting to know more of.

2015 was stressful, especially during the last few weeks of uni where it was the first time ever that I almost reached breaking point. I wasn't feeling that great about how I did with my courses so I was super relieved that I passed everything.

I hope you all have a great New Years wherever you are in the world and are ready to embrace the new opportunities and experiences 2016 has for you. In keeping with doing new things in 2016 I'll be in Wellington in the New Year which is a first. The image above is a still from a video I took on my new camera. I was thinking of making a little vlog but I'm not sure how well it will turn out. Like I said trying new things

Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas

Twas the day before Christmas and all around shopping malls are packed with people scrambling to acquire gifts. This pretty much happens every year so I made sure I did all my shopping 1. before it got crazy & 2. in the morning, on a weekday.

For today's post I'd thought I do a little gift guide for those of you doing some last minute shopping and/or for the people who are just too difficult to buy for.

Chocolate
Easy, everyone loves chocolate. Favourites and Roses are easy to give, there's a variety so there should be one flavour that someone likes. And of course there's just blocks of chocolate, just pick your giftee's favourite and you're good.

Books
Like chocolate you can never go wrong. There are so many genres and topics to choose from so hopefully you can find something the person your buying for likes. I chose to include an adult colouring book for an example. I love Joanna Basford's illustrations, I already have Secret Garden and I would love the other two.

Beauty Gift Sets
Gift sets are great, you get a variety of items all bundled up in some beautiful (sometimes Christmassy) packaging. Last year my sister got me Revlon gift set with two Colourburst Lip Crayons which I loved. It was great.

Magazines
Also like with books magazines covers a wide rang of interests. This is the road I took with my brother who is extremely difficult to buy for. Magazine and chocolate and he's all set.

Gift Cards
And if all else fails you can always resort to the good old gift cards. They're easy and it means the person you're buying for actually gets something that they like.

I hope this was helpful in anyway. Merry Christmas everyone! Can't believe it's only a couple of days away, hasn't set in for me yet but I'm excited. I got an early Christmas present yesterday in finding out I passed all my courses and I now have my Honours degree! Thank god. Hope you all have an amazing Christmas.

Summer Fashion Acquisitions

It's been quite a while since I've done a fashion post so I'd thought I would do one since I have a couple of new additions to my wardrobe which I am quite fond of. They're all from Farmers and I got them all on sale which is a major plus.

I got this skirt a couple of weeks before the other items. It's a skater skirt (of course) but what I really liked about it was the colour and the texture. I don't have any navy blue skirts so thought it would be a nice addition.

I spied this skirt the week before I got it but it wasn't on sale. Mum, being so wise, told me to wait till it was on sale and what do you know there was 50% off women's clothes. What drew me was the colour, I love a deep wine kinda red colour and I just fell in love with it. The skirt also came in a black but it just didn't stand out to me as this one. The skirt is a little different to what I would go for, not skater/straight, but I really like it. There's material/a belt which you can tie into a bow which I think looks cute. What's really awesome is how deep the pockets are, you could fit so much stuff in there.

I tend to choose skirts over shorts because finding a pair that fits me right is basically mission impossible. These pair were the only ones that kinda looked fine. They're similar to the skirt in that you can tie a bow for a belt and there's deep pockets. It's a light material, great for summer and is a army kind of green which I like.

This is not really a summer shirt but I really wanted a tartan shirt. I love the colours of it, dark blue and pink, and thought it would be a nice piece.

Hope you all enjoyed this post! I'm a bit nervous as tomorrow is my first shift. I got into a work experience program at The Pah Homestead and I'll be doing some shifts as a gallery host. I'm nervous/excited/all the emotions. Hope you all have a good weekend, can't believe it's only a week till Christmas!!!

Dreaming of Wanderlust - Game of Thrones

I'm a part of a couple awesome Facebook groups NZBloggers and #brunchclub which are spaces for New Zealand bloggers to share posts, ask questions and just be an overall supportive space. Great opportunities are also shared and when I saw the call for Game of Thrones fans I immediately put my hand up.

Trafalgar has launched TV inspired trips based on Game of Thrones as well as Outlander which I haven't watched but a lot of people love it.

Guests on the Highland Trail and Celtic Filmscapes will visit famous locations including the Whispering Woods and Winterfell Castle from Game of Thrones and Outlanders famous Kingdom of Fife. Imagine going to Winterfell Castle, that would be amazing!

A replica of Game of Thrones’ Winterfell Castle Courtyard has been created on the site where the filming originally took place in Londonderry, Ireland. Guests can dress up in character costumes from the show, tour the set and shoot live arrows. THIS SOUNDS AWESOME.

Here's the pricing for the trips and links for more information:

11 days, priced from $3983 per person and includes cinematic themed city tours, Game of Thrones experience in Castle Ward and more.

13-days, priced from $4,568 per person and includes visiting the Outlander filming locations for Fort William, 18th Century Cranesmuir and “1940s Inverness”.

Trips are available in the Northern hemisphere summer, between May and October 2016.

**I was asked to write a post about these trips but I think they're really cool and would be awesome to do especially if you love Game of Thrones as much as me.

Christmas Wish List 2015

The older I get the more harder it is for me to figure out what I want for Christmas. Usually I want a lot of things but trying to narrow it down is hard and I just come to a blank.

These are some of the things that I can be sure that I would like. You might see a couple of repeats from last year but they're just items that I always covet.

Typo
I just basically want everything from Typo. I went in to have a little look with the mind-set of gifts for my family but I ended up seeing things that I would like. Typical.

Essie
At the moment I have a small collection of Essie polishes which I will love to expand. Lately I haven't been motivated with painting my nails so hopefully a new shade will inspire me.

Perfume
I have a number of perfumes on rotation and am always looking for some new ones to add to my collection. I've never owned a Marc Jacobs perfume, I would love to have one. Their scents are amazing and their bottles are just gorgeous.

Frankie Magazine
This magazine always has the most beautiful cover and the inside is no different. It covers music, photography, fashion, travel and art which are all things that I love.

Hope you all enjoyed this post! Would love to know what you hope Santa will get you this year. I still need to do some Christmas shopping... eek. Buying for my brother is so difficult when he just buys everything he wants anyway *sigh* I'll figure something out.

Favourite Christmas Songs

Christmas is my favourite time of year. I think I love the build up most of all. The excitement, the lights, getting a Christmas tree etc just makes December a great month. The season also calls for Christmas movies (which I love) and songs. I might do a post on my favourite Christmas movies as well, let me know if you want one, but today is all about the music.

Most of the songs I'm going to include are the more older, traditional songs which I sang along to in primary school. These songs are very nostalgic and remind me of when I was younger where Christmas was even more exciting.

Jingle Bell Rock

Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer

Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree

Feliz Navidad

Santa Claus is coming to Town

I'd thought I would put a little bonus video in that's not a Christmas song. It's a really old Disney short of Santa's workshop. I would watch this over and over as a child.

Hope you all enjoyed this post! I would love to know what your favourite Christmas songs are. Listening to all of these songs has put me into a festive mood.

November Review

November was the first real month that I got back into blogging so there are quite a number of more posts than October. I know everybody is saying this but I can't believe that it's December, the last month of the year. I can't wait for Christmas but I'm not quite ready for 2015 to be over.

This purchase was heavily influenced by the many Facebook groups I'm apart of. Candles that come in a variety of nice scents and have a mystery ring inside them, yep you know I was going to get one.

Sometimes I just like to go on eBay and search random things. Most of the time I end up buying those random things.

Self explanatory really. Liquid Lipsticks are amazing and I'm in love with them.

Trying to take note of things around me and wanting to be more visually creative.

First of a little travel series I want to do. Am always dreaming of leaving this country and exploring magical places.

Long overdue reviews of some books that took me a while to get through.

Wanting to make a return with these posts. Includes TV shows, blogs and jewellery.

Hope you all enjoyed this post! Now that it's December I want to do some Christmassy type posts. Not sure what yet, if you have any ideas I would love to hear them. xxx
