Happy 1st Birthday!

Hey

Today is actually the blog's first birthday!

I can't really remember why I decided to start a blog this time last year, I think I did it on a bit of a whim.

I didn't really start off well and there was a few times where I considered deleting it.  It wasn't until this year where I really seriously put some time into it and I'm really glad I did.  I'm always surprised that people actually read what I write and I get really excited when anybody comments so thank you to everyone! I also love all the people I've "met" on Twitter from doing it which is awesome.

I really love it now, it's not perfect but I'm really excited in turning it into something amazing.

Hope you all enjoyed this post!

Calf Club Day

Hey

Sorry for being M.I.A for the last week but uni work has been really stressing me out which leaves me drained of any creativity for the blog.  There probably won't be any posts next week either but we'll see how we go. I normally don't post on a Sunday but I had a little fun excursion yesterday which I'd thought I will document.

My old Primary/Secondary school had their annual Calf Club day yesterday.  When I was at school this was my favourite day ever, firstly because of the day itself and also because leading up to it we would have dedicated class time to do art which would then get judge and the day before we did flower arrangements.

It was very weird going back after like nine years after leaving (can't believe it almost been a decade) especially when I remember the school being bigger than it was. It was also very weird walking around and seeing all the old teachers I had who pretty much are the same as I remember them.

I also remember there being a lot more stuff at Calf Club as well, maybe it just doesn't appeal to me as much anymore.

 There were small motorised cars

A rock climbing wall

There was also horse riding and a digger that scooped out balls out of some water. Just your classic country school games.

I made some new friends

And of course I got candy floss which I then ate too fast and got a bit sick

We didn't spend that long there as there wasn't a lot to do so we went home to what could be described as a mini calf club.

This is Rocky the sheep sitting by the flowers for some shade I think

This is my sister's new Guinea Pig baby. It's very soft and cute.

Hope you all enjoyed this post. I'm pretty much half way through my assignments and I can just taste the freedom. Seriously can't wait for this semester to be over.

My Favourite Things #20

The Illusionists 2.0
I mentioned last week I was going to the show and I really enjoyed it.  Unfortunately Mum got sick and couldn't come which was sad as she really wanted to go, my sister went with me instead as Dad thinks it's just all a con...  The show was amazing, it was part magic part comedy show and it blew my mind. I kind of wished I went more than once because I loved it that much.

Sam Smith covering Arctic Monkeys' 'Do I Wanna Know?'
When I saw Coup De Main Magazine tweet a link to this cover I clicked it straight away as what could be more perfect than this? I was right as soon I as I heard the first few seconds. Sam Smith's voice is amazing and coupled with one of my favourite Arctic Monkeys songs means that this cover is my new obsession and will be listening on repeat.

Having half the assignments as usual
Once again this is a little weird but is awesome. Usually you take four courses a semester and there are typically two pieces of internal work for each which adds up to eight all up.  This semester however I'm only taking three courses and two of them only have one piece of coursework. This can be a little daunting but at the same time I literally have half the work load I did last semester which good but not any less stressful.

Hope you all enjoyed this post and have a great weekend! Sorry about the randomness of my blogging I've had essays due in this week and the coming weeks so the blog will take a backseat for a while.

Giveaway Items

Hey

I've mentioned last week that I got a pretty little pink box in the mail which was the prize I won from Laura Loves Beauty Blog. There was a variety of stuff including a few treats to eat and it was like Christmas and my Birthday wrapped into one when I was opening it.

This was the sight that greeted me when I opened up the box. I have professed my love/addiction to chocolate numerous times so I was particularly excited when I saw the Crispello.

Laura also included a sweet little card and I just had to get a photo of this adorable sticker. I felt so bad when I opened the envelope.

The chocolate and the lollies were pretty much gone within the first day, no sweets are ever safe in the house :p  She also include a business card which I love and I really want my own.

Elf Liquid Eyeliner
I actually already own one of these but I've had it for awhile and is probably not as good as it was new.  It's a good thing I have this backup so I can practice my eyeliner skills which at the moment is zero so I really need it.

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser
I was excited to get this as I do not yet own a primer and wanted to see how it went.  This primer was mentioned on Nouvelle Daily about being a really good primer on a budget.  I agree with everything that was written, it literally gives my skin a silky feel and my foundation goes on a lot easier so when this runs out I definitely need to find me some more.

Linden Leaves Porcelain Brightening Serum
I've never really heard of brightening serum before so was interested in trying it and seeing how it worked out.  First of all it smells amazing, very floral and reminds of the day before calf club when we would all do our flower arrangements.  It's a weird thing to be reminded of but I loved calf club and doing the floral arrangements and the art were very fun.  Anyway the serum is very light weight and dries quickly, it doesn't leave my skin oily which is a big plus.  I haven't used it for that long so I'm excited to see how my skin will turn out.

Lime Crime in Babette
I think it's pretty clear that I have an obsession with these lipsticks, I currently now have four. Babette came in the 6th Anniversary Limited Edition Packaging which is cool to have.

The colour is gorgeous, it a pinkie nude which is actually something I've really wanted for a while so I am super excited to have it.

Hope you all enjoyed this post! Sorry there was no post on Monday, I had an essay due which was very stressful and am glad it's over.

My Favourite Things #19

Stuff in the mail
I'm one of those people who always get excited when the mail has come and I love going out to the mailbox to get it even though there might not be anything for me (but you never know).  There was however a little something waiting for me when I checked the mail on Wednesday.

I mentioned last week I won a giveaway from Laura Loves Beauty Blog and it arrived in a pretty pink box! Inside were all the beauty goodies as well as some goodies to eat and there was also a sweet little card.  I'll do a post about what was in it next week.

Possible Holiday
My parents are selling a house that they rented and did up and my Dad said when the house is sold there's going to be a trip to the Gold Coast. I thought nothing of it as the house was on the market for a while and it looked like selling it was far off and also because my Dad has promised a trip to Australia ever since I passed NCEA Lvl 1 around six years ago so I wasn't sure he was that serious.  Fast forward like a week since I heard him say that and all of a sudden the house is almost sold, applications for passports are on the table and Mum and Dad are looking at accommodation online. I think this plan is actually serious. I'm really excited, it won't be till the middle of next year but it would be my first trip overseas and will be a nice break.

Taylor Swift - Shake it off
I know I'm not the only one that is obsessed with this song, it took me a couple of listens but now it's one of my favourite songs so much so I bought it and is now on my IPod.  I love to just listen to it when I'm feeling a little bla and it just puts me in a good mood and I can't help dancing and singing along to it.

Hope you all enjoyed this post! Tonight Mum and I are off to see the Illusionists 2.0 and I'm really excited. I really loved magic when I was younger and even got one those magic box sets from the Warehouse. I never got the hang of them though and just gave up eventually...

First Lush Haul

Hey

Yesterday I ventured into the city with the goal to get some more resources for my essays which I am forcing myself to do these holidays, it's not easy.  I did accomplished half of what I set out to do and the rest of the day I just wandered around Queen Street and went into shops with the urge to buy.  I was so tempted to buy some stuff in Glassons, I especially loved this one dress but it was $50 and I was like no :(  I did however get some stuff from Lush which I have wanted for a while.

After being in the shop for a while and smelling everything I finally decided on a lip scrub and a face mask.

Bubblegum Lip Scrub
I mentioned before how disgusting my lips have been during winter and I have wanted to get a lip scrub.  In the store I was standing there for a good while tossing up between getting Bubblegum or Popcorn.  I eventually went for Bubblegum as it's so sweet and of course it's pink (I just couldn't resist) I love it so far, I only need a tiny bit on my little finger and I just rub it all over my lips.  Did I mention it also tastes amazing too ;p

Cupcake Fresh Face Mask
I've really wanted to get a face mask for a while and I particularly wanted one that helped with oily skin as I am a sufferer.  Cupcake is suppose to absorb excess oil and calm breakouts which is exactly what I need.  As you can see it's very gooey and smells like peppermint chocolate! Seriously it does and I get to put it on my face ;p

Hope you all enjoyed this post!

My Favourite Things #18

Winning Stuff
This week I found out I had won Laura Loves Beauty Blog's giveaway to celebrate her getting over 200 followers on Instagram.  Like I've said before I have a bad memory when it comes to things I've entered so once again I completely forgot I entered and was a great surprise when I won because I rarely win anything.  So yeah, that was my excitement for the week.

Rimmel Apocalips
I have a feeling that I've mentioned this before a couple of times but I going to mentioned again because I love it so much.

My one is in the shade 303 Apocaliptic (I think) and is a nice hot bright pink.  I really love the applicator, the tip can nicely outline my lips and it's also just feels nice to paint my lips with it.  This has pretty incredible lasting power and is an absolute nightmare to get off but what can you do.  I now want all their shades.

The high feeling you get when you've worked on a essay
This one is really weird but it's true, when I've made some progress on my essays I always get this buzz.  I don't know how to describe it, it's like a feeling of accomplishment and also relief knowing it will be a little bit less stressful the day before the due date.  I have two essays to do but I've been favouring one over the other because (1) There's more words to do (2) It's due the first Monday back and (3) I still have no idea what I'm writing about for the other one :/

Hope you all enjoyed this post and hope you all have a great weekend!

Clothes, Clothes and Clothes

Hey

As mentioned last week I went to Farmers and they were having a sale and there were quite a number of clothes on the sale rack.  I managed to find some gems as well as some other pieces that were still on sale but not to the extent as the others.

These are the little gems I found on the sales rack.  The pink sweater at the top was $10 and what drew me to it was for sure was the detail on the shoulders, I do love a bit of sparkle and pink.  The denim jacket and the peach/coral blazer were $20 and when I saw them I knew I had to have them, everyone needs to have a denim jacket right?  The picture on the left is the actual colour of the blazer, it's nicely fitted and I love how bright and summery the colour is.

These two weren't on the sale rack but I really really liked them.  The top is just a nice summery shirt that I can just throw on and it goes nicely with the blazer.  The skirt is a 'denim' skater style but is not really denim, just looks like it.  I've been having a thing for skater style skirts for a while now, I just want one is every colour/pattern.

Hope you all enjoyed this post!

New Hair

Hey

Well I did it, on Saturday I finally got my hair cut and it literally feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.  My hair went from being a quarter of the way down my back to just grazing my shoulders.

Hey there re-growth

This is it in it's straightened form, today it's in its natural state; wavy and kind of looks triangular *sigh*  As you can see I wasn't brave enough to get a fringe, maybe next time though.  It's kind of like a bob but is longer at the front which I think nicely frames my face.

Another exciting thing happened over the weekend was that I pre-ordered a black polka-dot blouse from Popbasic.  I'm really excited about it, I don't really have any blouses at all so this will be welcome addition to my wardrobe and who doesn't love polka dots!

Hope you all enjoyed this post!
